How Your Calculation Works
The astrological calculation itself runs entirely in your own browser. We do not transmit the birth date, time, or names you enter to our servers, and we do not store this information in any database. If you close the page or refresh, the result is gone unless you've downloaded or saved it yourself.
Location Search
To resolve a birth place into coordinates and time zone, the place name you type is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service — a third-party, open-source service — so it can return matching locations. This works the same way any public map search does. We don't control Nominatim's own data practices; you're welcome to review OpenStreetMap's privacy policy directly on their website. If you'd rather not use this search, you can enter latitude, longitude, and time zone manually instead.
Fonts
Our website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google's servers can share basic technical information, such as your IP address, with Google — the same as loading a font from any external server.
WhatsApp Sharing
If you choose to share a result on WhatsApp, this opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. We do not access your WhatsApp account or contacts, and nothing is sent from our side beyond what you choose to send yourself.
Cookies & Tracking
At this time, Janmakshar does not set tracking cookies or run third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy to reflect it.
Children's Privacy
Janmakshar is intended for use by adults evaluating marriage compatibility, including on behalf of family members. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and the tool is not directed at children.
