Why Janmakshar Exists
Most Kundali-matching tools online are built as one small feature inside a much larger astrology portal — buried under daily horoscopes, tarot, numerology, and a constant push to "talk to an astrologer." If you searched for Janmakshar Matching specifically, you were most likely looking for one thing: a straightforward, focused way to compare two people's birth details using the traditional 36-Guna Ashtakoota system, without wading through everything else. That's the entire reason Janmakshar exists — one tool, built well, for one purpose.
Our Methodology
Janmakshar Matching is calculated using the traditional Ashtakoota (36 Guna) system — the same sidereal, Lahiri-Ayanamsa-based methodology used across Vedic astrology for generations. We calculate each partner's Moon position (Rashi, Nakshatra, and Pada) from their date, time, and place of birth, then compare both charts across the eight traditional Kootas: Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, and Nadi. Alongside the Guna score, we include a simplified Manglik (Mangal Dosha) indicator.
We believe in being upfront about what this is and isn't: astrology is a traditional belief system passed down through generations, not a scientifically proven predictor of relationship outcomes — and we say so clearly on every result page, not just in the fine print.
What We Care About
- Privacy first. The birth details you enter are used only to calculate your result. See our Privacy Policy for the full details of how this works.
- No unnecessary signup. You can get a complete, detailed result without creating an account.
- Plain language. Every score comes with an explanation of what it actually means — not just a raw number out of 36.
- Built for the whole family. Janmakshar is available in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati, since "Janmakshar" itself is the term families in Gujarati- and Marathi-speaking communities actually use for this process.
A Traditional Tool, Presented Honestly
We're not a team of astrologers, and we don't claim to be. Janmakshar is a calculation tool built on a well-documented traditional methodology. For decisions of real significance, we'd always encourage pairing a Janmakshar result with a conversation with a qualified Jyotish practitioner or a trusted family elder — our tool is meant to inform that conversation, not replace it.
